
This is a picture of me, my best friend, and my best friend’s sister at the Frost Entomological Museum. When I say that I was obsessed with becoming an Entomologist, I mean, obsessed. That clipboard was not provided by the museum; I was serious about being serious.
I was in grade five, living in Pennsylvania when this picture was taken, and this trip to the bug museum was better than Disney (well, almost). As a hobby, I collected bugs, I read about bugs, I dissected bugs, and I dreamed about being a bug expert for life.
Flash forward, it turns out that I didn’t have the gumption to pursue a biology degree, and instead I doubled down on that clipboard and pen and pursued opportunities to write.
It was a good dream while it lasted though…
